Father's Day with Pearson's

We spent Father's Day in California with Darryl's family. We had lots of fun. Teagan had fun getting to know his Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, and of coarse, Buddy better. I am sure they had fun getting to know him better too.
What a happy little guy.
Buddy loves to sit on this step stool by the oven when there's something cooking inside. I thought it was kinda funny. He is a little beggar.

Teagan in his Father's Day shirt.

He was too tired to swim, but he looked cute in his suit!

They love to nap together. They fell asleep in the same pose. It was so cute.

Grandpa and Teagan felt right at home together. They were both asleep about 10 minutes after we got there.

I can't get enough of those chubby cheeks!
Nate and Teagan flexing their muscles.
That's Nathan's hairy knee in the background.
We stopped in Cedar City on our way home to visit Blake, Kayce and Glade. Glade thought Teagan was pretty fun, and for the first time, Teagan was old enough to notice her and react. It was really cute.

Glade letting Teagan bite her finger.

Glade getting even and biting Teagan's hand. They had so much fun together.

If you saw the faces I made, you'd be laughing too!

His cheeks are so big!
He isn't so amused here. I just know he was thinking how stupid I looked trying to make him smile.

Teagan loves to be entertained.

My husband, the romantic . . .

A few months ago for my birthday, Darryl decided to buy me a John Wayne movie. I am not opposed to Westerns and every now and then watch one, but for my birthday? He immediately told me that this wasn't a Western. It was a Romance and it took place in Ireland. OK. that seemed a little better, but I still wasn't convinced. I quickly read the synopsis:

"Sean Thornton (John Wayne) is an American who sears off boxing after accidentally killing an opponent. Returning to the Irish town of his birth, he finds happiness when he falls in love with the fiery Mary Kate (Maureen O'Hara). Though he is sorely tempted to pick up the gloves against her brother, the town bully, Sean is determined not to use his fists. Mary Kate and Sean wed but her brother refuses to pay the dowry. Sean would rather walk away than accept this challenge. Even when his new wife accuses him of cowardice, Sean stands firm. But when she boards the train to leave, he is finally ready to take matters into his own hands. The resulting fist fight erupts into the longest brawl ever filmed, followed by one of the most memorable reconciliations in motion picture history."

We finally watched the movie last night. The synopsis sums up the movie pretty well and leaves nothing to anticipate. There wasn't much more to the story besides the brute force that John Wayne's character displays to Maureen O'Hara. He yells commands to her and addresses her as "woman." Then he literally drags her around and shoves her several times throughout the movie. I was really wondering when it was going to be somewhat romantic. I did have to laugh. I guess it just goes to show What Darryl thinks is romantic. It was amusing. Good thing he doesn't treat me that way. I would have to show him a thing or two if he did. :)
