This year for Thanksgiving we went to my Uncle Danny and Aunt Tracy's house. (The one's with the hot tub that I didn't get in this time. I can't afford another new phone.) We had lots of fun playing games and singing Karaoke. (I even sang this time. I never sing.) It was Teagan's first Thanksgiving and I forgot my camera! I was bummed, but when we got there, my Aunt Tracy's friend Whitney was there. She had known Whitney when they lived in Texas. Since Whitney's family still lives in Texas, she and her husband came to our families dinner. It was fun to get to know them, and it turns out that Whitney is a photographer. (check out her website at whitneylewisphotography.com) She took several pictures that day. (mostly candid shots) She emailed me some of the pictures she took. I love the way she softened the colors in the pictures so those were the ones I posted.
Teagan was a busy boy. He was the only baby there and got lots of attention but couldn't care less. He just wanted to explore. He didn't want to be held or anything. He just loved crawling around and chewing on Wii game cases and throwing the ping pong ball around. It was funny.

Teagan isn't so sure about football
Anyone who knows my family at all knows what big Utes fans we all are. My sister that goes to BYU is even a huge Utes fan. We were all so excited for the game and most of the family got together to watch it. (Dad and Garrett went to the game and we were all SO jealous!) I didn't get any pictures but we were all decked out in our Utes gear. (Teagan included.)
It was such an exciting game. We got really into the game and all of the sudden we all cheered so LOUD! It startled Teagan and he cried. It scared him pretty bad. We decided to try and cheer softly but kept forgetting. That poor kid was in tears several times that night. We tried taking him in the other room but he wanted to be where everyone else was and kept crawling back in to play with Uncle Devin (his favorite). I was even willing to miss the game to play with him upstairs but he wasn't having it. He wanted to be with everyone else. It's just too hard to curb your enthusiasm with a game like that. The biggest game of the year and bigger than most years, this game was just too exciting to keep quiet about. Poor Teagan, but hey, GO UTES!!!
*And I don't want to hear any excuses about Max Hall handing us the game. It wouldn't have mattered if we got 20 interceptions if our offense hadn't have been able to score. Not to mention BYUs defense failing to stop us from doubling their score. When we lost (the past two years), I didn't make excuses for my team. Be a good sport people.

Scouts honor
Garrett had his Eagle court of honor tonight at the church. He finally got his Eagle. He has been putting it off for years now, but finally got it done. He even received a congratulatory letter from Orin Hatch! (I think it already made it to the trash.) I am glad not to have to listen to my mom remind him to get it done anymore. It was nice to see Garrett get recognition for all he has done in scouting. It was nice for him to finally be done with it all. It's a great program but I think by the time they earn the Eagle, they don't want to even think about scouting for a while. (Until they become scout leaders that is.)

Receiving his award.

You can't trust a hot tub.
On Saturday, my cousin Ali had a huge party at her parent's house for her 13th birthday. They live in a really cool house in Olympus Hills. They have a theater room, ping pong table, pool table, Wii, Playstation 3, huge plasma screen tvs in every room, a karaoke system with hundreds and hundreds of songs, and of coarse a hot tub. It's quite the party house and they LOVE to party! This was just one of several times we have attended a party there since they moved there in July.
I forgot my swimming suit but decided to join the fun at the hot tub so I rolled up my pants and was going to stick my feet in. Well, let me just say I wish that was all that ended up in that hot tub! It was dark outside and I walked up to the hot tub and decided to step down on the first step and then sit on the edge with my feet in.
The first step isn't actually a step. It's rather deceiving because it looks exactly like a step and is in the only place a step would be in! It's actually curved like a recliner. It slopes down for your back and then up for your knees and down again for your feet. Well, I took one step on it and it was the slippery slope of doom. I fell right in. I laughed hysterically for several minutes and then realized my cell phone was in my pocket! My poor cell phone drowned in that deceptive hot tub!
I would like to make you all aware of the fact that I was not the only one to fall into that hot tub. Everyone that got in slipped on that "step" and not one of them warned me! I wasn't there when they all got in; I joined them later. I was just the only person fully clothed to fall in. Andrew got in the hot tub fully clothed, but by his own free will. (and sans cell phone)
So, I am without a cell phone. I used to have an older phone that still worked but I lent it to my mom when her phone wasn't working and she doesn't know where it ended up. I am hoping to get a new one tomorrow but I don't really want to extend my contract and I don't have 200 dollars to spend on a phone, so I don't know what to do. I will probaby find a used one and just deal with that. In the mean time, contact Darryl if you need to get a hold of me. I have no phone :(
**NOTE** Feel free to laugh at me all you want. I thought it was pretty dang funny myself.

My most recent digital scrapbook pages. I really enjoy doing this. No cutting, no gluing, no mess! I am also pretty indecisive so this gives me lots of chances to redo the pages until I get it the way I want it. I finally enjoy scrapbooking! It helps when you have a cute baby as the subject of all my pages!

What's so wrong with red?
You'd think something as seemingly trivial as football wouldn't affect me so much. I wish that was the case. I am getting major anxiety over the upcoming Utes game. I may be a little superstitious but I don't like the idea of having a black out game. (The fans and team wear all black instead of their usual red.) It seems that when a team changes things up, they lose. When The Lakers decided to wear their old-school short shorts for a play-off game, they lost. When Georgia decided to have a black-out game a few weeks ago, they lost. I feel like they need to just stick to the norm and focus on winning and not the colors they wear. All in all, I am just really nervous about playing TCU. They have proved a tough team and I don't want anything getting in the way of the Utes and their Mountain West title. GO UTES!
