The Garden

This year I wanted to plant a garden but since we have moved into apartments, we didn't have the space for one. I told my parents I would help with theirs if we could have some of the produce from it. I love fresh garden produce. My parents were more than happy to oblige and we have had fun gardening this year. Teagan has especially loved getting to play in the dirt. He loves helping water the garden.

Ish the Fish Who lives in a Dish

We recently visited Blake, Kayce and Glade and they have a small fish tank. Teagan LOVED the fish and would point to it several times and say "ish! ish! ish!" We decided that he would love a fish of his own and we bought him a very small (1 Gallon) tank and a beta fish. 

We decided to let Teagan name him and his name is Ish. We're pretty sure that's short for Ishmael. So here is the newest member of the Pearson family: Ishmael the Fish (male). 

Darryl and his family have been successful fish owners in the past and this made me optimistic as to Ish's future in our family. I had a beta named Grizwald and he lived for about 6 weeks. I did love picking things out to decorate the tank. That was my favorite part. :) The little hut I picked out didn't fit with the tubing for the air pump, but Darryl (aka MacGyver) rigged it to accommodate both. In the picture it looks like the hut is smoking but that's the bubbles. 

Teagan loves Ish and makes frequent visits to the counter where he lives to say hi. It was totally worth the purchase despite the fact that I thought we were giving this fish a death sentence by bringing him home. Thankfully, Darryl knows what he is doing. He used to have a 30 gallon aquarium. I don't think we will reach that point anytime soon, but who knows? I may turn into a fish enthusiast after all.

Whitney_Lewis took more pictures of Teagan today. She is so fun and had some great ideas for the pictures. Teagan is such a ham and loved the attention. He is just SO stinkin' cute! The awesome photography helps too. I love that she can capture his personality in a picture. The best part is that we just dressed him up, and let him play. She managed to capture all the right moments to make it look far more posed than it really was. He wouldn't hold a pose if we tried anyway. Thanks a million Whitney!

Cedar City

We found a great excuse to visit Blake, Kayce and Glade in Cedar City. We are pretty good at coming up with excuses to go visit them, but this takes the cake. I took some shifts at the Pharmacy in Cedar, so I was actually earning money while we were there! 

We arrived and Glade was SO happy to see Teagan. He didn't quite know how to feel about her. She kept hugging and kissing him and he didn't care for that much. She finally gave up the affection and the two were pretty inseparable after that. Their favorite thing was to each have a game-boy and sit next to each other while they played. I would normally insert a comment about how much they are like their dad's but in Glade's case, she was destined to be a gamer from both gene pools. :) 

They also had a great time pulling absolutely everything out of the toy box and then not playing with any of it, and heading right back to the game boys. Of coarse, I only got a small dose of getting to see them play together since I had to work while we were down there. I didn't really feel like I missed out much because the shifts weren't too long and Kayce had to work too. Darryl and Blake had a great time playing warhammer and watching the kids. By the time I got off work, we all had dinner together and enjoyed the evening with various activities.

One night, we all went swimming at the hotel pool. It was so fun for the kids to be in the water. The pool was inside a pool house, but the water was still on the chilly side, so the babies would want to be in the pool and then want a quick dip in the hot tub. Their favorite was sitting on the edge in between the pool and hot tub. They got a great view of everyone in the pool and they kept warm with just their feet in the hot tub. (And that way, we didn't worry too much about them getting over-heated which can happen to babies in hot tubs.) 

It was so fun spending time with them. Glade changes so much each time I see her. I just fall in love with that darling little girl all over again. I am so glad that the kids got along. It was great to see them interact. My favorite thing was when Teagan had something that Glade wanted. She would come over to him and since she knows baby sign language, she would do the sign for please, then proceed to rip it out of his hands in typical toddler fashion, and then sign thank you. It was hilarious. Thankfully, Teagan likes to share. He didn't mind when she would take something. She is a bit more adept at the game-boy's so when she would take it, she would turn it on and show Teagan a few things. He liked that a lot. He was quite taken with those video games. He liked Mario the best and Glade kept going back to Tetris. It was pretty cute. I am so glad they like each other. With their dad's being as close as they are, it's best that the kids learn to play well together, because like it or not, they will be seeing a LOT of each other!

A wonderful Mother's Day

Darryl, Teagan and I went to my mom's for dinner. We had a barbeque in the backyard and the weather couldn't have been nicer. Teagan loved being outside, as he always does and made sure to point out every airplane that flew overhead. He points up at the sky as soon as he hears them. He knows they come from the south and go north so he always turns south first and then follows them as they disappear to the north. He smiles and says "eh-pane" which is a new word for him. He also learned "hot" today when I told him his food was too hot for him to eat and that he had to wait. He kept saying, "hot! hot! hot!" It would have made even Paris Hilton proud.

After dinner I made my mom's favorite: chocolate dipped strawberries and we watched a Cary Grant movie called "Walk, Don't Run." (It was a really cute one.) Teagan had been playing and running around enjoying the attention from his Aunt Ste and Uncles Joe and Garrett when he decided that he wanted his mama. He ran over to me and I put him on my lap and he snuggled right up to me and fell asleep! He NEVER wants to snuggle, so this was quite the treat. It was the best thing he could have given me for Mother's Day. I loved every minute of it. He is such a sweet kid. I love him to pieces and I am so blessed to be his Mother. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for such a wonderful family.

For those of you who don't know Andrea, she is my best friend. She and her husband Shane are very talented singers. I have heard Andrea sing countless times and she never fails to amaze me. Shane is also incredible and is pursuing a degree in vocal performance at the U. They both perform in Operas quite frequently, and come highly recommended. Mark this on your calendars now because this will be a night you won't want to miss!

Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point

Darryl and I have been wanting to take Teagan to the Tulip Festival at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. We decided to get family pictures done that day too. We made an arrangement with a photographer we met at our family's Thanksgiving Dinner last year. ( See "Teagan's first Thanksgiving" post or, you can find Whitney at http://www.whitneylewisphotography.com/) She took lots of candid shots and I think some of those turned out better than the posed ones. We had so much fun running all over the Gardens with Teagan. He loved it and the pictures turned out great!
