Darryl's new love

There is no convincing Darryl that anything but a truck is worth driving. At least we now have one that fits our whole family. He went
from this
to this.

As you can see, his taste certainly hasn't changed. He LOVES the new truck and I admit that I do too. It's the one he has been wanting for a while and we found a KILLER deal! I am excited for him, and I hope I can get the hang of a manual transmission so I can drive it too! I like having a back seat that comfortably fits a car seat and I am especially anxious to go camping. We couldn't go last summer unless we took both cars or crammed everything into my tiny car. I can't wait to get up into the mountains!

Visitors

Aunt Carrie came to Utah to visit Darryl's Grandparents from New York and we got to spend some time with her and Darryl's cousin Griffin and of coarse their dog, Bea. Teagan wasn't so sure about Bea at first and didn't like it when Bea licked his face, but it didn't take long for him to warm up to her. It was so cute watching him follow her around and then Bea came and laid by him when he played with the toys. It was so cute, and Bea is the sweetest dog!

Teagan with Aunt Carrie. He is so funny when he meets other people. I never thought my little tornado would be shy, but he can be. He eventually warms up to people but it took him a little while before Carrie got to see his cute personality. He just wanted to be held. (He NEVER wants me to hold him, so although I wanted him to go play, it was cute when he would reach up to me and want me to hold him.) The
We got to take Griffin snowboarding last Tuesday at the Canyons. It was lots of fun finally getting back on the slopes! I miss snowboarding so much! Unfortunately our day got cut a little short when Griffin got sick. Poor guy. I felt so bad for him. He was really looking forward to the terrain park and we never made it to that part of the resort. Later that night we all (Darryl's Grandparents, their good friends the Thompsons, Carrie, Bill, and Griffin, and our little family) went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was so fun to spend time with Darryl's extended family. We don't get to see them nearly as often as we would like.

Teagan the Tornado

He officially has a fitting nickname. He runs all over the place destroying everything in his path. Today he pulled apart my mom's kitchen rug, pulled all the books off the bookshelf, and ravaged my make-up brushes all before church. I can't keep up with him! The worst part is that it's hard to be upset at the stuff he gets into because it's so cute!

He now knows how to open the front closet so nothing in there is safe anymore. He pulled down all the scarves and loves to play in the closet. It has a bi fold door that he loves to open and close to play peek-a-boo. He shuts himself in there until you say "Where's Teagan?" then he throws the door open with a big smile on his face and waits for the "peek-a-boo!" It's quite adorable.

He also loves to play on the landing of the stairs. The landing is open to the front room and he just loves to stand there looking out at the people in the front room and sing and talk. He is quite the entertainer.

He has also discovered that he loves squeezing himself into tiny places. It's funny to watch him wiggle into tight places and then try and get back out. About half of the time he manages to get out on his own, but the other times, he whines and I have to pull him out.

Happy Birthday Teagan!

Teagan had a wonderful birthday celebration! He had two parties! The first was a combined party celebrating Teagan's birthday, and a final get together for Nathan before he left for the MTC. The second party was with my family. He had a great time at both and especially loved diving into his cake. Today we took him to the Discovery Kids Museum in Salt Lake. He had a blast. He played with the other kids and loved exploring everything. His favorite was playing in the little tykes police car. He didn't want to get out! He would move around in it but only backwards. He wouldn't go forward. He also loved the police radio in it. He exhausted himself playing so much and crashed the second we buckled him into his carseat to go home. It was a lot of fun. He had a great birthday and got spoiled by everyone! He got so many fun new things.

Teagan's Snake Cake
(My first attempt at a cool birthday cake. I think it turned out pretty well.)

Teagan enjoying his cake and playing with Andrew. The snake tongue (fruit roll up) is stuck on his hand.

He enjoyed his bath in the sink even more than the cake! He loves splashing in water.

The police car at the museum. He didn't want to get out! We had to pry him away.

He loved being up on the horse. He especially liked holding on to the saddle horn. It was so cute.
